The House Chapter 3 : Walls and Water

The week started well: Trevor the irrigation man arrived with his Ditch Witch to dig the trenches for the watering system.  A few days earlier, a few house bits and pieces had started to arrive: doors, windows, and the very important "dunny" (the portable toilet for the workers)
Trevor had dug a trench right across the driveway, and we were having a coffee/ Anzac biscuit break when someone (yes, it was me...) said "at least the bricks are not being delivered today"....
Within a few minutes, the telltale hiss of truck airbrakes was heard, 2 semi trailers of bricks were at the gate, so pipe and cable had to hurriedly be laid before Trevor shut the trench so the delivery could take place.
The rest of the week saw a lot of activity: the arrival of Ricky the brickie and his offsider, who have already given us a wall:

Trevor (AKA Trevor the Turtle) plodded along giving us taps and sprinklers, Shell and Dad and Mel attended to fences and yards,  and Matt the Dingo man prepared the stables for their occupants...  Thanks to everyone who pitched in, including Richard for the sawdust shovelling!

And now we have other signs of human habitation:
